For app support, privacy questions, or requests about parent or child information:
Please describe the issue and, if helpful, your app version and iOS version. Do not send passwords, pairing codes, children’s photos, or unnecessary private family details. Children: ask a parent or guardian to help with account or privacy questions.
Privacy and deletion requests
A parent or authorized account holder can email dev.rahulpawar@gmail.com about access, correction, stopping further child participation, or deletion of remaining information. We may need to verify your authority before acting. See the Privacy Policy’s retention, export, and deletion section for the full details.
Parents can open Settings → Your account → Parent account → Delete Account in the app. Owner deletion removes the family’s app records; an invited parent deleting their own account leaves shared family history in place. Archiving a child profile is not deletion.
Cleanup needs a connection and can be interrupted. Keep access to the owner’s sign-in and retry if it does not complete; there is no automatic background cleanup service. The client cannot delete other users’ Firebase Authentication identities. Provider backups or security records and copies you exported may remain as described in the policy.
Deleting the app or a ChoreQuest account does not cancel Apple billing. Manage subscriptions separately through iOS Settings → your name → Subscriptions.
Help for families
Parent account instructions below are for parents or guardians. Children can ask their parent for help.
Chores and rewards
When do kids earn XP?
After a parent approves a completed chore. Sending a photo or checking instruction steps does not award XP by itself.
Why is some XP unavailable?
Pending reward requests reserve XP; delivered rewards spend it. Family-goal contributions also reduce your personal balance. Rejected or cancelled requests release their reservation, and refunded rewards return XP.
Do I need a proof photo?
Only when your parent makes it required for that chore. Use the camera or photo library with permission. If access is denied, check iOS Settings or ask a parent for help. A required-photo chore cannot be sent without a photo.
How do I ask my parent for help?
Open the chore and choose Need a helping hand? Write what you need. This saves a request for your family parents; it does not contact emergency services or promise an immediate reply.
Devices and privacy
What works offline?
You can browse available cached lists and keep local photo/checklist drafts. Final submissions, reviews, invitations, reward spending, contributions, and account deletion need a connection. Retry failed actions when connected. Drafts do not sync between devices.
Will I get notifications?
Optional chore reminders are scheduled on this device with iOS permission. This release has in-app Updates but no remote event push alerts. Open the app to refresh activity; local reminders can be out of date until then.
Forgot a Kid PIN?
Ask a parent to reset it from Settings → Heroes on this device. A Kid PIN is local to this device and does not change an account password.
How do I pair another child device? For parents
A parent opens Settings → Parents & paired devices and creates a code for the child. On the other device's sign-in screen, choose Set up a kid device. Codes work once and expire after ten minutes. A parent can revoke access in Parents & paired devices; create a fresh pairing session to reconnect.
Forgot the Parent PIN? For parents
Use Forgot Parent PIN and sign in again to the same parent account before choosing a replacement. If you forgot an email/password account password, use Forgot password on sign-in. PINs are device-local; keep your account recovery method available.
Parent accounts and Premium
What is Free and what is Premium? For parents
Free includes 1 active hero, 5 active chores, and 2 active personal rewards, plus reviews, checklists, XP, family goals, pairing, local reminders, today/upcoming dates, widgets, and data downloads. Archived items do not count; paused chores do. Premium removes these plan limits for actions taken with Premium access and adds past history, 30-, 90-, and 365-day insights, and interactive charts.
What happens to my items when Premium ends? For parents
If Premium ends, all existing heroes, chores, rewards and XP stay available, including items above the Free limits. You can keep using and editing them, completing chores, reviewing work and redeeming rewards. Archive items to make room before adding or restoring more, or subscribe again. Past-history screens and extended insights require active Premium; exporting your data stays available.
Who receives Premium? For parents
Premium is linked to the purchasing family owner's ChoreQuest account. Separate invited-parent and paired-child accounts do not receive shared Premium in this release. ChoreQuest family access is different from Apple Family Sharing.
How do I purchase or restore Premium? For parents
The owner opens Settings → Your family plan and chooses a monthly or yearly option. To restore, sign in to the original purchasing ChoreQuest account and Apple Account, then choose Restore purchases. Purchases are not transferred to a different ChoreQuest account.
How do I cancel or request a refund? For parents
In Your family plan, choose Manage or cancel subscription to open Apple subscriptions, or Request a refund from Apple. You can also use iOS Settings → your name → Subscriptions and reportaproblem.apple.com. Apple handles eligibility and billing.
Does deleting my account stop billing? For parents
No. Deleting the app or your ChoreQuest account does not cancel an Apple subscription. Cancel it separately with Apple, preferably before deleting your account. Restore purchases does not cancel billing.
How do I export data or remove old proof photos? For parents
Open Settings → Your account → Parent account → Data & privacy controls. Prepare a JSON download, optionally with available photos, or manually remove older reviewed proofs using your chosen cutoff. Pending proofs and activity stay. No automatic proof-retention job runs; keep exported files private.
Does deleting my account delete the family? For parents
Only deleting the owner's account removes the family's data. An invited parent deleting their own account removes their access and sign-in, leaving shared family records. Archiving a child is not deletion. Cleanup needs a connection; retry if interrupted. Other users' Auth identities are not deleted by the owner's client.
