1. Family-managed use
ChoreQuest helps families plan chores, submit progress, review work, and track family-created rewards. It is not an emergency, safety-monitoring, childcare, employment, educational, medical, or financial service. A parent or legal guardian must supervise children and choose safe, age-appropriate chores.
The family owner creates the family. Invited parents use separate sign-in accounts and receive parent permissions; paired child devices receive access tied to one child profile. Invite only people you trust, protect pairing codes, and revoke access when it is no longer appropriate.
2. Accounts, children, and local PINs
Keep email/password, Apple, and Google credentials secure and provide accurate account information. A parent must have authority to provide participating children's information and should avoid unnecessarily identifying or sensitive content.
Parent and Kid PINs protect normal navigation on the device where they are set. They are not a replacement for device security or separate account permissions. Kid mode on a signed-in parent's device still uses that parent's backend identity. Paired child devices cannot open parent tools.
If you suspect account misuse, revoke affected memberships, secure your sign-in, and contact dev.rahulpawar@gmail.com.
3. Your content and responsibilities
You retain ownership of the profile details, photos, chore instructions, comments, help messages, and feedback you provide. You permit ChoreQuest and its service providers to store, process, and display that content as needed to operate, support, and secure the app.
Upload only content you have permission to use. Do not submit illegal, harmful, abusive, sexually explicit, infringing, or privacy-invasive material. Do not use the app to endanger, shame, exploit, or unlawfully monitor anyone, attempt unauthorized access, or disrupt the service.
4. Chores, XP, and rewards
Parents decide whether submitted work is complete and provide the family's promised rewards. Proof photos are required only when configured for the chore. Sending proof or checking instruction steps does not award XP; parent approval does. ChoreQuest does not verify physical completion or supply family-created rewards.
XP and contribution amounts are virtual family progress records. They have no cash value, are not wages or a financial account, and cannot be transferred outside the family. Parents are responsible for the safety and availability of chores and rewards.
5. Free and Premium
Free includes up to 1 active hero, 5 active chores, and 2 active personal rewards per family. Archived heroes and chores, and inactive rewards, do not count. Paused chores still count. These are active-item limits, not daily creation limits; completing a recurring chore or redeeming a reward does not remove it from the active count. Family goals are separate from personal rewards. Checklists, parent reviews, XP, family goals, invitations and child pairing, today's and upcoming calendar dates, widgets, local reminders, and raw data downloads/privacy controls remain available on Free.
Premium removes the plan limits on active heroes, chores, and personal rewards for actions taken with Premium access, subject to normal technical and safety limits. It also adds past chore/reward/calendar history, 30-, 90-, and 365-day progress insights, and interactive activity/XP charts. Only the family owner can purchase monthly or yearly Premium through Apple; the price and billing period are shown before confirmation.
In this release, Premium belongs to the purchasing owner's ChoreQuest account. It is not automatically granted to separate invited-parent or paired-child accounts. ChoreQuest family membership is different from Apple Family Sharing; Apple Family Sharing does not bypass the app's purchasing-account checks.
To restore, use the original purchasing ChoreQuest account and the Apple Account that made the purchase, then choose Restore purchases in Your family plan. A purchase cannot be silently moved to a different ChoreQuest account or unrelated family.
6. Billing, cancellation, and refunds
When Premium ends, existing heroes, chores, rewards, XP, and saved activity are not automatically deleted, archived, or disabled, even if you are above the Free limits. You can still edit and use existing profiles and chores, complete and review work, redeem existing rewards, archive items, and export or delete your data. Adding, duplicating, or restoring items is allowed only when the resulting active count fits Free, or after Premium is restored. Premium-only history screens and insights lock again; the underlying activity remains stored subject to normal deletion and retention controls.
Apple charges your Apple Account when you confirm a purchase. Subscriptions renew automatically unless canceled; the purchase screen explains the current price, renewal period, and any trial. If offered a free or discounted trial, cancel at least 24 hours before it ends to avoid renewal charges.
Manage or cancel in Apple's subscription settings, including through the app's Manage or cancel subscription link. Canceling renewal keeps Premium until the paid period ends. Refunds, revocation, expiry, or billing issues can change access; any verified Apple billing grace period is honored. Restore purchases is not a cancellation or refund request.
Deleting the app or a ChoreQuest account does not cancel Apple billing. Cancel separately through Apple. Request eligible refunds at reportaproblem.apple.com; Apple decides refund eligibility and handles payments.
7. Connectivity and availability
You may browse cached information and keep device-local drafts offline. Final submissions, reviews, invitations, reward spending, contributions, and deletion require a server connection. Cached views may be incomplete or out of date; retry failed actions after reconnecting.
The current release provides optional local reminders and an in-app Updates list, not remote event push alerts. The service may be interrupted by connectivity, maintenance, or provider outages. Keep your own copies of important information and do not rely on the app for urgent obligations.
8. Leaving, archiving, and deleting
Child-profile archiving preserves history and is not permanent deletion. The owner can delete the account and family data from Settings → Your account → Parent account → Delete Account. An invited parent deleting their own account leaves the family but does not delete the owner's shared family records.
Deletion requires a connection and sometimes fresh sign-in. If cleanup is interrupted, retry; no automatic background cleanup runs in this release. Other users' sign-in identities and provider security/backup records may require separate handling as described in the Privacy Policy. Exported copies you shared cannot be recalled.
Access may be limited or revoked to address misuse, security risks, or violations of these Terms. Account deletion does not cancel a subscription with Apple.
9. App materials and limits
ChoreQuest's software, branding, artwork, and interface remain protected by applicable intellectual-property law. You receive permission to use the app for personal household purposes, not ownership of those materials.
To the extent allowed by law, the app is provided as available without a guarantee of uninterrupted or error-free service. The developer is not responsible for indirect losses arising from unsafe family-created chores, unavailable rewards, lost data, or misuse. Nothing here removes consumer rights or liability that the law does not allow us to exclude.
10. Revisions and contact
The date above identifies these Terms. A new substantive version requires parent review and acceptance before parent tools are available. Paired child devices are not asked to accept terms as a parent. Changes to About or help text alone do not require a new agreement.
